Dear Rev Father / M.C.,
ARCHBISHOP'S MASS FOR ALTAR SERVERS - SATURDAY 11th JULY 2009
The annual Mass for Altar Servers will be celebrated by the new Archbishop of Westminster His Grace, Archbishop Vincent Nichols in Westminster Cathedral at 2.30pm on Saturday 11th July 2009.
Each year the Archconfraternity help with the organisation of this very special and most popular event, to which all servers in the Archdiocese of Westminster and servers in the London areas of the Archdiocese Southwark and the Diocese of Brentwood are most warmly welcome to attend, whether or not they are members of the Guild of St Stephen.
Please find enclosed a poster that you may wish to display giving full details of the Mass. Servers should vest in the Cathedral Hall, in Ambrosden Avenue and must be ready to process into the Cathedral by 2.00pm. It is hoped that many Guild Chaplains will accompany their servers and concelebrate. Chaplains should bring diocesan vestments and vest in the Sacristy.
Parents and families of servers will be very welcome but, because of the numbers anticipated, seating may be in one of the side chapels.
If your parish has not attended before why not make an effort to come this year and be with us to celebrate this most special occasion with our New Archbishop and Superior General of the Guild.
For more information please look at the Guild's web site at http://www.guildofststephen.org or e-mail to secretary@guildofststephen.org.
Please come and let us fill the Cathedral with Altar Servers.
Yours sincerely
Michael Chute
Honorary President
